Trying to decide if we should drive down the day before Thanksgiving or if it would be less crowded on Thanksgiving morning. Anyone ever make this journey on either day?

Depends what time you leave. If you're not past Midlothian by 1:30, you'll be unhappy.

There will be traffic no matter what, especially once you get into Austin - the traffic there is just brutal during certain times of the day.
It'll probably be about the same. I would drive down the day before.
And it'll take between 3 and 4 hours, depending on how fast you drive and how many other people are on the road. I've never had it take longer than 4 hours to get to Austin.
Hope I helped.

It would take less time to fly to Austin than to drive the day before Thanksgving. It took me 5.5 hours to make that trip the one and only time I decided to drive and I left at 11am. There was an accident that closed I-35 though.
if you're a patient person than go for it, if not than wait until Thursday morning.

Most traffic depends on the time of day you drive. If you start your drive before 6AM on either day, you should be fine. Otherwise, you may face heavy traffic. It usually takes 3 hours, but if you drive after 6AM, it might take an hour or two longer.

Are you attempting to make candied yams into non secular? ok. Candied yams are sturdy. New Jersey is on the element to long island the situation i could pick to flow to. New Jersey itself is worse than Iowa so i bypass to %. Iowa.

You should pack a lunch. You can be assured that some fool will roll his vehicle off the road, and the back-up will be major.
