Hands down....Irving. Garland just plain sucks. I lived in Garland for over 20 years. The city has gone downhill. Lots of areas that are run down, trashy. Police department sucks. They are very strict and think they can harass/stalk anyone.

I would not live in Garland. The farther north you go in Irving the nicer it gets. Don't live south of Hwy 183. Since you are considering Garland I'm thinking you may want an area less expensive than Las Colinas, which is the northern most part of Irving. If you are between Hwy 183 and Hwy 114 it will be more affordable. Irving had DART rail and buses. It also has good schools if you have kids.

I lived in Irving for several years and worked for IISD.

Can you not just live in Dallas? If you have kids, you're gonna have to send them to private school, and the apartments will be a lot more expensive, but it could be worse. You could live in Garland or Irving, lol. Idk, I actually haven't hear *that* much about the two cities, but if you're looking for some place near (ish) to Dallas then you could try Fort Worth. I personally don't live there, but i go to a private school there and it's a great area to live in. But I guess if I had to pick between the two cities I would pick Irving.

If i were you i would chose Irving. Irving,Tx is just right out side of Dallas your alot more close to events that are going on and i think they have the Dart Rail in Irving i know they have Dart Buses there. They have really nice area of Irving called 'Las Colinas' you may want to look it up but i know Irving,Tx is more city like and Garland,Tx is more small town like and it's kind of far. So if were you i would chose Irving,Tx.

while you're youthful and single, then the uptown area is loaded with apt concepts from low-value to very extravagant, in spite of the undeniable fact that it somewhat is a exciting, lively area of city for singles... a lot of paying for, eating, etc. and it is superb off I-seventy 5 and at present north of the downtown region. The nearer you get to the Tollway on the west the greater sketchy the neighborhoods substitute into. There are some astounding places on the East area of I-seventy 5 however the crime on that area is greater in demand. there's a place referred to as Cityville on Fitzhugh this is sweet to the east of I-seventy 5 and has greater functional costs and looked secure and alter into very astounding. There are aspects to the north that are greater suburb like that are good aspects: Addison, Frisco, Legacy of Plano, Allen, Garland, Rockwall (this is a sprint extra out) finding on the place you would be working, etc and in case you have a relatives or not.

North Irving is much better than Garland.

You don't want to be in South Irving or Garland.

If you stay North of 635 you can find very nice apartments and homes and stores.

I would choose the Las Colinas section of Irving.

Garland is the place that the cartoon 'King of the Hill' makes fun of. If you've seen the movie "Zombieland" the first scene makes fun of Garland.

I live in Austin, Texas.

I'm sorry those two towns are your only choices lol.

I would say Irving if I HAD to chose.
