I am a 33 year old African American single Christian mom with two kids ages 16 and 8. We are used to living in a predominantly White area, but we want to move to a more mixed area with a good church near by.I need a Affordable AREA close to public transportation. I want to just drive on the weekend if not at all. I love to go walking around town.
I have found some great employment opportunities in the Dallas, Fort Worth, and even in Austin Texas.
I am looking to move to Dallas Fort Worth or Austin.
I am unemployed in Michigan.
I live in a very safe, comfortable, and affordable suburban area in Flat Rock Michigan.
My apartment is dirt cheap for a 2 bed room apartment it's$505.00 a month. I live really far out.
The area doesn't have any public transportation though.

I NEED HELP PLEASE

Kessler Park

http://www.intowndallas.com/kesslerpark.htm is your best option if you are going to go to the church in Oakcliff

Otherwise, look for something off Skillman and Audellia or Lincoln http://www.thevillageapts.com/index_flash.shtml Village Country Club has a dozen apartments w/ access to the country club as well as the events/walking trail that your children would love ~ on Saturdays they have football games, a huge pool, food, and when Dallas plays they show the game to choose from w/ the price range you would be comfortable w/ as well as it not being a bad part of town which is Dallas but you could get to the oakcliff area fairly easily

I would have to say definitely NOT the loneliness. Your children are the best company you can have. It was my son and I only for a long time (his father was an addict and then passed away, and it was my choice to be alone). The hardest part is finding the right person to watch your children and how to pay for it. Get in touch with the county and find out about subsidizing child care expenses. That will help a lot. And then find parents in town with children of the same age and swap sitting so that you can get out once in a while. That's what my best friend and I do. Having your children meant you made a decision. Granted, you didn't expect your husband to leave during the pregnancy of your second child, and why isn't he helping? That seems to be the question. What is wrong with these fathers (and sometimes mothers) who just don't feel the responsibility for the life that they helped create!!!!!

Howdy! I live west of Fort Worth, but grew up in Dallas. I lived in Arlington which doesn't have public transportation, If you want that, move to Oak Cliff, south of Dallas and they have buses and trains.. I don't know what the rent is there, and it's wasn't a great place to live back in the 80s, but I know they have public transportation. My sister uses it from south of Oak Cliff.in DeSoto.

Now, if you want a quiet Christian communtity, try Mineral Wells, where I live. It's very bible belt and Texan all the way.

Bring your guns...lol...It's a party out here. YeeeeeHAAAAwwwwww!

Don't do Dallas I live in Ft Worth and every time I turn on the news its always about someone getting killed there.

I've been living in Ft Worth my whole life and love it. Just don't wonder into the bad neighborhoods (every town has one)

i would recommend, Austin (specifically Pflugerville)

they have an excellent school system and lower crime than other parts of Texas. Traffic in Austin is a mess..

Definitely don't go to El Paso. I live less than a hundred miles away and know that there have been a lot of problems because it is right on the Mexican border.
